Brighton Bitcoiners Monthly Meetup – June 26th!

Come along and join our growing community of Bitcoin enthusiasts in Brighton! Whether you’re curious about Bitcoin or a seasoned pro, we welcome you to socialise, network, learn, and have fun with us.

We warmly welcome people from all walks of life who are interested in bitcoin.

This month we will be dedicating part of the evening to a SeedSigner workshop. SeedSigner is an open source, air-gapped, and stateless Bitcoin signing device that can be built from off the shelf hardware components.

Using an air-gapped signing device can considerably improve your security when transacting on Bitcoin. SeedSigner offers an innovative, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution to fill this need.

During the workshop we’ll take a little time to run through the set-up procedure, and then move on to exploring some of the devices features with practical usage examples.

We have a handful of devices for attendees to use, probably in groups of 2 or 3 people, which are also optionally available for purchase (to cover costs only, per device is around £55). Anyone is also welcome to bring their own hardware and join in, you can visit seedsigner.com for details of what is needed, do be aware though that we are using raspi zero’s with pre-soldered headers so won’t be doing any soldering during the workshop. You would need to do that in advance, or also have pre-soldered headers, if bringing your own.

It will also be ideal if each individual or group that is participating has a laptop with them. Please do bring one with you if you can.

Some of us also tend to arrive early, at 6.30pm, for a meal before the event. Indian Summer not only accepts BTC payments, but also serves deliciously authentic Indian cuisine that shouldn’t be missed! Please reach out in advance, preferably on Telegram or Nostr, if you’d like to join us for the meal so that we can confirm numbers early.
